The 2025 Independent Music Awards were held at London’s Roundhouse on Tuesday night (September 23), and Fontaines D.C., Gilles Peterson, Ezra Collective, and Bon Iver were among the notable winners recognized during the ceremony. Fontaines D.C.’s Grammy-nominated record, Romance, won Best Album, while their current label XL Recordings secured Best Independent Record Label. Ezra Collective took home Best Independent Track for “God Gave Me Feet for Dancing,” a standout of the modern jazz group’s third album, Dance, No One’s Watching. Bon Iver and his label Jagjaguwar were awarded Best Creative Campaign for the release of the album SABLE, fABLE, while Shed Seven was recognized as Best Live Performer. Veteran DJ and label boss Gilles Peterson received the Outstanding Contribution to Music award for his decades of creative influence in U.K. dance and jazz scenes, while Throbbing Gristle member and Industrial Records co-founder Cosey Fanni Tutti was presented the Innovator Award.
